About Franklite

Franklite was established in 1973 by Frank Lissauer, who brought with him his father’s knowledge and many years’ experience of running lighting shops – a passion for lighting that now spans three generations of the Lissauer family. The business quickly outgrew its first premises and moved to a much larger purpose-built factory in 1990. Frank’s son Mark joined in 2002, and Franklite remains proudly family-run.

Franklite aims for good product design that stands the test of time, both technically and aesthetically. Highly skilled design and technical teams work alongside an in-house laboratory, and the company makes its own LED plates and tuneable light engines – its L11 tuneable white engine won Best in Tech at the Hotel Designs Brit List awards in 2021. Its lighting has been supplied to hotels, embassies and private residences.

Our Franklite range is led by wall lights, feature and single pendants, semi-flush ceiling lights and adjustable spotlights. There’s a strong choice of IP44 bathroom wall lights, flush ceiling lights, cluster pendants and chandeliers, plus table lamps, floor lamps and outdoor wall lights. Finishes such as aged brass, polished nickel and matt black are paired with amber, smoked, ribbed and opal glass.

Does Franklite make lights for bathrooms?

Yes. Franklite has a large choice of bathroom wall lights, and ranges such as Globe include IP44-rated fittings. Ratings differ between products, so check the IP rating on each product page against the bathroom zone where the light will be fitted.

Can I match Franklite pendants and wall lights?

Often, yes. Many Franklite ranges, including Globe, are made as pendants, wall lights and bathroom lights in the same finishes and glass options. Search the range name to see every piece we stock.

Are Franklite lights dimmable?

Many Franklite fittings that take standard bulbs can be dimmed with a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Integrated LED fittings vary, so check the product page to confirm whether a particular light is dimmable.
