About Eglo Lighting

Eglo’s story began in 1969, when Ludwig Obwieser founded the business after being inspired by the lighting designs he saw on his travels. The first lights were sold through local specialist retailers, demand quickly grew and the company soon began producing its own designs. More than 50 years on, Eglo remains family-owned and has grown into a global lighting business, with around 5,500 employees and more than 80 sales and logistics companies worldwide.

Design sits at the heart of the business. Eglo develops the large majority of its collections in-house and controls development, production and logistics itself, with three company-owned production facilities. The result is a huge and constantly refreshed range that follows interior trends closely – natural wood and rattan, black metal, smoked and ribbed glass, soft fabric shades – alongside practical LED technology and the connect.z smart system, which can be controlled by app, remote or voice.

Our Eglo collection is one of the largest we carry, with over 1,700 designs in stock. Pendant lights, flush ceiling lights and wall lights make up the core, joined by bar pendants for kitchen islands, table and floor lamps, spotlights and bathroom wall lights. There is a strong outdoor offer too, with wall lights and other fittings rated for exterior use, plus tuneable white, remote control and Alexa-compatible lighting for smarter homes.

Can Eglo lights be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

Many can. Eglo offers a wide choice of outdoor wall lights and bathroom fittings with IP44 or higher ratings for damp and exposed areas. Always check the IP rating shown on the product page to make sure it suits where you plan to install it.

What is Eglo connect.z?

connect.z is Eglo’s Zigbee-based smart lighting system. Compatible lights can be dimmed and adjusted by app, remote control or voice assistant, and many offer tuneable white or colour-changing light. Check the product page to see whether a fitting is part of the connect.z range.

Do Eglo lights come with bulbs?

It depends on the design. Integrated LED fittings have the light source built in, while many decorative lights take standard bulbs such as E27 or GU10 that may be sold separately. The product page lists the lamp type and whether bulbs are included.
