While the connection itself is relatively straightforward, working with mains voltage ceiling or wall wiring carries inherent risk β€” a competent tradesperson will ensure the job is completed safely and to the required standard in your country.

Ceiling profile and mounting

If your property has decorative cornicing, a ceiling rose, or an unusual ceiling profile, mention this to your electrician in advance β€” some fittings require an additional backplate or canopy adapter to sit flush and look correct.
