How to Save Energy with the Right Lighting.

With the cost of living rising across the board, a lot of it being driven by Fuel and Electricity costs, we thought it might be useful to highlight a few areas were the right lighting could actually save money in the long run.

This doesn't mean that you have to make compromises, or that things shouldn't look as good as they can do, it just means that, with a bit of thought and direction, you can maximise any savings to be had.

Heres are a few things to think about while deciding what's best for you.

LED Energy Saving Bulbs

The first Energy Saving port of call, whether you are buying new lighting, or replacing bulbs in existing fittings, would be LED Bulbs. Most LED Bulbs will use about One Tenth the electricity of their halogen equivalent and they are now a lot more reliable when using them on dimmer switches. They should also last a lot longer.

No matter what type of lighting you are buying, or already have, there should be an LED equivalent bulb for it.

Fittings with Sensors

We have a wide range of lighting fittings that are available with Sensors built into them. The best way to save energy with a light fitting is to turn it off as much as possible and when people walk around your house and leave lights on, its energy that doesn't need to be used.

Here are a few fittings we can provide, for different areas of your house, with built-in Sensors, some of which are designed for External use.

Smart Lighting

With the added functionality of being able to program lighting to come On and Off at specific times, control lighting via Alexa or Google Home and add additional products like sensors to your Smart Home, Smart Lighting can show a significant saving over standard on/off switches.

We specialise in Smart Lighting, our in house Lighting Experts are trained on its main uses and can also give advice on setup and technical support. Have a look below and click through to see the entire range available.

Solar Lighting

In more recent times we have seen solar lighting go from being low output marker lights for gardens or flower beds right through to more recent fittings actually being of use for lighting Walkways or Pathways around houses.

Really useful for areas with no power supply, but also for replacing older more power-hungry fixtures.
