Weatherproofing and mounting

Ensure the fitting is correctly mounted and fully sealed against the wall or surface — even high IP-rated fittings can suffer if water tracks behind the backplate through a poor mounting seal. Your electrician should use an appropriate outdoor-rated sealant where the backplate meets the wall surface.

External cabling
